Winter at Fall Creek Falls State Park {Tennessee}

We woke up to find snow on the ground and we were thrilled. Instead of hunkering down for the day at home, we gathered all the layers we would need for a day outside. We decided to drive over to see Fall Creek Falls State Park in all its winter wonder and it was absolutely beautiful. Just driving into the park we were amazed at the beauty of the snow and the ice covering the trees and the rocks. And for a state that does not get a whole lot of snow, they did a fantastic job of clearing the roads for visitors.

We parked the car and took a small paved pathway up to the falls and again we just struck by the beauty of it all. We loved winding our way through the trees and across the bridge. And a family walk in the snow couldn’t possibly go without a great snow ball fight that lasted along the entire trail.

And then we reached the falls and it was like time stopped completely as we watched the water rush over the rocks surrounded by the glittery trees covered in crystals and snow. The view was nothing short of magic. Waterfalls are always beautiful, but to see this one in the winter gave it an almost ethereal feeling to it and it made for the perfect place to spend a day in the snow.
