Smoky Mountain National Park {North Carolina}

Memorial Day weekend took us to North Carolina to enjoy the glorious mountains of the Smoky Mountain National Park. It was good for my soul to be back in mountains with so many trees and fresh air and hikes to explore. Sadly, I realized that my time in Florida has weakened my hiking ability. But even if I had to huff and puff my way along the trails- it was spectacular! We drove along some of the Blue Ridge Parkway, explored parts of the Appalachian Trail, and went to the top of Clingman’s Dome above the mist and smoke of the mountains. This is one of the few national parks that does not have a fee to enter the park. It was a perfect weekend and I am now rejuvenated and ready for whatever comes.
