One of our favorite things about living in Tennessee now is how close so many great state parks are to where we live! We spent a grey, overcast day hiking around Tims Ford State Park and it was lovely. We began on the paved path that leads to the overlook. I was so excited to see the first signs of fall coming on the trees. Fall is my all time favorite time of the year and I missed it so much while we were in Florida. So to see the very beginnings of the leaves changing made me unbelievably happy. The trail to the overlook is easy and accessible to all and offers benches to rest frequently. And the overlook is so beautiful!

At the overlook there are two hiking trails that break off to either side of the overlook. We decided to take the Marble Trail loop to the right of the overlook which was a couple of miles. The trail was easy with gentle slopes and winding path, taking us down to the water’s edge of the lake and then back up and around to the overlook. I can see us coming back here again and again, especially as we move more into fall, to enjoy the beautiful views that this park affords to its visitors.
