The Mermaids-Weeki Wachee State Park {Florida}

Always be yourself…unless you can be a mermaid, then always be a mermaid. We made our way to Weeki Wachee State Park so that we could see the mermaids for ourselves. And it was amazing! The mermaids were beautiful, graceful, and engaging as they told an adaptation of ‘The Little Mermaid’ by Hans Christian Anderson. Watching them I was struck with despite what must be a difficult feat of athleticism, they managed such a elegance to it. It was truely an incredible experience to watch them as as we left the show, my daughter turns to me ans tells me that she wants to do that when she grows up. We enjoyed a stroll through the rest of the park with a walk through the tranquility garden and a peak at the animal exhibits and ended our trip with a ride down the river boat soaking in the beauty of the natural springs.

{Know if you go:: There is an entrance fee to the park, but that fee covers the show and the boat ride. They offer two shows during the day and seating is first come, first serve so be sure to be there as soon as the doors open so you can get a good seat. If you want to take the boat ride through the springs, then go to the dock first to schedule the time you want to go.}
