The place in Aruba that surprised me the most was the Casibari Rock Formation. I had always pictured Aruba to be nothing but white sand beaches so when we pulled up this popular spot and saw cacti and rocks and a desert feel, I was thrown off because it was not what I expected at all. But after the initial shock wore off, then we started exploring around the formations and making our way to the top. It was a like a giant natural playground full of nooks and crannies to hide and trails to walk. It was unexpected but also one of the greatest parts of the trip and I would absolutely put it on the Aruba must do list.
