No visit to Huntsville is complete without a trip to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. This is the home of rocket building, Space Camp, and an amazing museum with relics of past trips to space.

Because of our time on the Space Coast in Florida, we have developed an incredible appreciation for the space program and all it stands for. While we didn’t go to Space Camp, we did enjoy the museum and seeing all the pieces of our history.

While some of their more interactive areas were closed at present, it is clear that they are trying to incorporate elements designed to reach the interest level of any age including the youngest of a group. They offer opportunities for anyone of any age to experience astronaut training. Their IMAX screen movies about space are unsurpassed. And seeing actual rockets and some of their components is amazing.

To think of the people who made the space program possible and those that first left our world to explore beyond is such a humbling experience. Especially with the renewed interest in the space program in recent years, the U.S. Space and Rocket Center is an absolute must visit place whenever you are in Huntsville.
