A few years ago around this time, I was in Alaska enjoying the absolute winter wonderland beauty of the Kenai peninsula. And one of my favorite places was the city of Seward. This is where the Alaska state flag was created and where the Iditarod dog race begins. I got there early in the morning and watching the sun come up over Resurrection Bay was absolutely incredible. The Iditarod is held in February so I was too early to enjoy the thrills of the race. But just being there was pretty thrilling.
