We found our way to Cumberland Mountain State Park this last weekend. This park is relatively small, but so lovely and peaceful. We made our way around the walking path next to Byrd Lake and were thrilled to discover that this state park is another that has a Storybook Trail. We read ‘Night Night Forest Friends’ by Annie Bach as we made our way across the bridges and through the trees. We think that we may need this book to read at bedtime now. This park is really nice and has all kinds of amenities such as a restaurant, pool, and cabins to rent. But the walking path was absolutely our favorite part and gazing at the lake while we crossed one of the many bridges was wonderful. We will definitely be back to this state park, and next time we think we will bring our family and rent one of their great cabins for a few days of rest and relaxation.
